The Malaysian flag will continue to fly high at ONE Championship’s introductory event in Vietnam on Friday, 6 September.
ONE: IMMORTAL TRIUMPH will feature two Malaysian martial artists in the organization’s first ONE Super Series-only card in Ho Chi Minh.
First of the two is Kelantan’s “N41 Makik Urai” Azwan Che Wil. He takes on Vietnam’s Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat in a ONE Super Series flyweight contest.
Wil, an N41 Hallo Fight Lab representative, started practicing Muay Thai at the age of 13. He has since developed a well-rounded game and is accurate with his elbows, having sealed some spectacular knockouts with his short-ranged striking.
His love for Muay Thai has seen him amass almost 50 bouts in the span of three years while competing throughout Malaysia and Thailand.
The 24-year-old has also faced off against Malaysia’s Muay Thai sensation Mohammed “Jordan Boy” Mahmoud in Kuala Lumpur.
“N41 Makik Urai” is eager to return to the winning bracket after suffering a defeat to China’s Han Zi Hao during his debut at ONE: CONQUEST OF CHAMPIONS in November 2018.
With experience on his side, Azwan is confident he will return to the winning column in Vietnam’s capital city.
Another compatriot who will be looking to leave with a win is fellow Kelantanese Mohamad Fakri Yusoff.
The Johor Bahru-based athlete faces UK-based Michael Pham in a ONE Super Series Muay Thai featherweight duel.
ONE: IMMORTAL TRIUMPH will be headlined by a mouth-watering battle between ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Gaiyanghadaoand Brice “The Truck” Delval.
The Muay Thai icon is coming off a successful title defense against Hiroaki “Kaibutsukun” Suzuki, while his adversary makes his debut at The Home of Martial Arts.
Action is guaranteed in this all-striking card so be sure not to miss it.
Before this event unfolds, ONE travels to Bangkok, Thailand for ONE: DREAMS OF GOLD.
The two finalists of the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix will be decided in this stacked event.
