Two Penang President's Cup players were injured in an accident near the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah (JSAHMS) bridge in Batu Maung while on their way to the Batu Kawan Stadium today by motorcycle.
Team manager Saad Hassan said striker Muhammad Asraf Aliffudin Yassin, 18, and defender Muhammad Shahmi Mohd Sohairi, 21, were involved in an accident at about 1pm today.
Saad said Muhammad Shahmi was seriously injured while Muhammad Asraf suffered minor injuries and that both were receiving treatment at the Lam Wah Ee Hospital.
"The players were supposed to have travelled by bus but since the bus driver was sick, the players had to travel to the stadium on their own," he told Bernama when contacted here today.
He said both missed the match against Melaka United which started at 4.45pm Thursday.
