Unimap eyeing 17 gold medals at Sukpit

Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) has set the target of being in the top 10 among the 101 teams participating in the inaugural Institute of Higher Education Games (Sukipt) from Oct 28 to Nov 11 at venues in the Klang Valley.
UniMAP vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Kamarudin Hussin said the UniMAP contingent of 180 athletes and officials targeted 17 gold, 11 silver and 12 bronze medals at the meet.
UniMAP would participate in nine sports at the games, namely athletics, tennis, sepak takraw (men and women), rugby 7's, badminton, beach volleyball, taekwondo and bowling, he said at the handing over of the contingent flag to the team manager at UniMAP in Wang Ulu near here.
The biennial games, organised by the Ministry of Higher Education, offers 16 sports for competition among an estimated 14,000 students.
