Yen Mei leads three other Malaysian women into second round

Yen Mei, 18, who was more composed was given a tough fight by her opponent before winning the match that went into a rubber set, 21-17, 14-21, 21-11.
"I felt my opponent was not playing up to her full ability, probably she was tired after having played in a mixed doubles match prior to the singles match against me," she said after the match, here.
In Monday's second round match, Yen Mei is expected to face an uphill task after being drawn against China's Qin Jinjing, ranked world number six in the junior category.
However, the head-to-head stand is all square after two meetings as Yen Mei had won once Jinjing who has also beaten Yen Mei once.
National juniors coach Rony Agustinus said he was satisfied with the performance of his charges as four women's singles players had advanced to the second round.
Apart from Yen Mei, Goh Jin Wei beat Haramara Gaitan from Mexico 21-9, 21-11 to advance together with Lee Ying Ying who beat Anri Schooness from South Africa 21-4, 21-6 in just 13 minutes and Tew Jia Jia beat Tessa Kabelo from Botswana 21-4, 21-15.
Jin Wei will face Thailand's Thamolwan Poopradubsil in the second round; Ying Ying has drawn Airah Mae Nicole Albo from the Philippines while Jia Jia is set to face Maria Dmitrieva from Russia.
Three Malaysian mixed doubles pairs also advanced to the next round, namely Tan Jinn Hwa/Goh Yea Ching, Ooi Zi Heng/Yap Zhen and Goh Sze Fei/Peck Yen Wei.
