National sprinter, Zaidatul Husniah Zulkifli aims to register a faster time in the Malaysia Open from Sept 30 to Oct 2 at Universiti Malaya.
The 23-year-old athlete, who is still fresh from exposure at Rio Olympic Games, aims to register 11.60s compared with a personal best of 11.93s in the 2015 SEA Games in Singapore.
"Breaking the 100 metres national record is not impossible. I just have to train harder. I learned many things in Rio and will use them to enhance my performance," said the Bachelor of Physical Education student at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
The 100m national women's record is held by former national sprinter G. Shanti who recorded 11.50s in 1993. -- Bernama
