Sepak Takraw Coalition of Kelantan (GASTAK) president Zuraidin Abdullah has withdrawn from contesting the post of Malaysian Sepak Takraw Association (PSM) president at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) this Saturday.
Apart from the presidency, Zuraidin said he had also decided not to contest any post at the AGM.
"This decision is to give way to the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Sepak Takraw Association (PERSEWIP) president Datuk Mohd Sumali Reduan to lead PSM," he said in a statement today.
He said the decision to withdraw was made after taking into account various factors and views apart from believing in Mohd Sumali's ability and experience to govern the body well.
Zuraidin added that GASTAK backed PSM to address all issues it is facing so that the association could be re-accepted by the Asian Sepak Takraw Federation (ASTAF).
"With this decision, I will also focus more on GASTAK and the development of sepak takraw in Kelantan," he said.
