Tesla CEO Elon Musk praised China and strongly recommended people to visit the country, in a social media post that was echoed by his mother Maye Musk.

"China is awesome. I strongly encourage people to visit," Musk wrote on social media platform X on Tuesday in response to a post discussing Tesla's business in China.

His mother, Maye Musk, reposted his comment and added her own endorsement. "Each city has its own charm with different cultural sites to see. Buildings and streets are clean and in good repair. Also, people are polite, hard-working, and respectful," she wrote, adding that she feels safe in China.

In an interview last month, Musk stated that there is a "good chance" Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) firms will eventually become world leaders in the industry, citing China's abundant power supply and robotics manufacturing capacity.

According to the National Immigration Administration, the number of inbound foreigners reached 22.91 million in the first half of 2026, a year-on-year increase of 20.4 precent. Among them, foreigners entering under visa-free policies reached 17.82 million, up 30.6 percent compared to the year before.

A recent report from the Pew Research Center also shows that international public opinions on China has been continuing to rise.
