The Indian government on Saturday directed social media platforms to prevent the dissemination of hoax bomb threats targeting airlines, schools, hospitals and hotels across the South Asian country.

The schools cancelled classes, evacuating the premises as police and bomb detection squads launched search efforts.

Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said they involved 28 international schools, seven private schools and two public schools.
