5 Malaysians injured in Hong Kong hostel fire

The Foreign Ministry said out of 25 people reportedly injured in the Yesinn Hostel fire in Hong Kong last Sunday, five of them were Malaysian tourists.
They are Wong Kang Chi who is warded at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Queen Mary Hospital, Pok Lam Road; Phuah Kien Sing and Lee Chiang Choon (both warded at Ruttonjee Hospital, Wanchai District); Kung Shin Tyan and Tin Kam Mei (both warded at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital).
The Wisma Putra statement also said that the Malaysian Consulate General in Hong Kong had informed families of the victims regarding the incident and would be on standby to render necessary assistance to the victims.
The Consulate continues to liaise directly with the local Hong Kong authorities as well as the respective hospitals to monitor the condition of all Malaysian victims from time to time.
The 25 people were reportedly injured when fire ravaged an apartment block that housed both residential units and budget lodgings for tourists.
Most of those injured were tourists from Malaysia and Singapore who were staying in the Yesinn Hostel, at Cheung Hong Street, North Point District, Hong Kong.
