Two Indonesian celebrities, Ahmad Dhani and Arzetti Bilbina Setyawan, have been mentioned as possible candidates for the Surabaya mayorship in the 2015 Regional Election (Pilkada).
The Tempo newspaper quoted that their names were proposed by political parties trying to gain support among young voters to challenge incumbent, Tri Risma Harini or better known as Risma in the mayoral election due to be held in September.
The two celebrities are considered as capable of competing against Risma, who was recently named second runner-up in the top 10 most outstanding mayors by the World Mayor Prize (WMP).
Ahmad Dhani's name was proposed by Gerindra Surabaya Party while Arzetti by the National Awakening Party.
The 42-year-old Ahmad Dhani, who was born in Surabaya, is an Indonesian rock musician, songwriter and producer.
Arzetti, 38, a model and actress, is also active in politics.
