Another moderate earthquake hits Halmahera

A moderate earthquake, measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale, hit Halmahera in Indonesia at 4.47 pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department.
It said the epicentre of the quake was 204km northeast of Ternate, Indonesia, and 1,086km southeast of Semporna in Sabah.
The quake did not pose any threat of a tsunami, it added.
The quake comes two days after another temblor measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit the region.
That quake was located 33km north of Ternate, Indonesia and 1,054km southeast of Semporna, Sabah.
No tsunami threat was reported.
