Andrea Leadsom dramatically withdrew Monday from the contest to lead Britain's Conservative Party and become the next prime minister, leaving Theresa May as the sole contender to take over from David Cameron.
May is "ideally placed to implement Brexit on the best possible terms for the British people", Leadsom said in a statement announcing her withdrawal.
