COVID-19: Indonesia records 1,051 new cases, 35 deaths overnight

The number of COVID-19 positive cases in Indonesia has now surpassed 47,000, with additional 1,051 new cases recorded overnight.
Achmad Yurianto, spokesman for the Indonesian authorities on COVID-19 said, in the last 24 hours until noon today, 35 deaths were reported bringing the death toll to date to 2,535.
"Overall tally now stands at 47,896 cases and currently 13,348 patients are still under COVID-19 surveillance," he said in his daily press conference broadcast via the National Agency for Disaster Management's (BNPB) official YouTube channel.
East Java remains the province with the highest number of deaths (741 cases) followed by Jakarta (594 cases), West Java (171), South Kalimantan (167) while the rest were in other provinces.
