COVID-19: New cases in Malaysia take a slight dip again

KUALA LUMPUR: As of midnight Monday (July 18) Malaysia reported a total of 3,080 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 4,626,061 since the pandemic began in March 2020.
Based on the data from the COVIDNOW portal, only one was an imported case while the rest of the 3,079 were local transmissions.
According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), the total active cases is now at 42,185 while 57 patients were admitted to the ICU, with 37 of them in need of ventilator support.
MOH also reported a total 3,399 recoveries, taking the total number of those recovered and discharged to 4,548,014.
The Health Ministry registered seven deaths, with three confirmed as brought-in-dead within the last 24 hours.
The overall total number of deaths in Malaysia now stands at 35,862.
