Thailand has reported two new COVID-19 cases and no fatalities over the last 24 hours, bringing its tally to 3,033 cases with the death toll remaining at 56.

Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) spokesman Thaweesilp Wissanuyothin said the two cases - a 36-year-old Thai woman and a 42-year-old Thai man, are family members of a confirmed patient in the southern province of Narathiwat.

"Of the 3,033 COVID-19 cases in the kingdom, 52 per cent are those who went to hospitals for COVID-19 tests while 39 per cent are those who had close contact with confirmed patients," he said at a COVID-19 daily briefing here today.

To date, 2,857 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 120 remain warded.

Meanwhile, Thaweesilp thanked the public for their cooperation for using the Thai Chana, a website for contact tracing where shoppers and visitors must register and scan a QR code before entering and leaving the premises.

"Good cooperation will pave the way for more businesses and venues to resume operations," he said.

Thailand began its first phase of relaxation on May 3 where six types of businesses and venues reopened while the second phase started on May 17.
