Fear gripped South-Indian state tourist centre Hogenakkal, situated some 53 kilometres from here, after a crocodile sneaked into a children's park from the Kaveri river, Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.
Some children saw the seven-foot-long creature moving towards the centre of the park from the river and raised an alarm, forest officials said.
A team led by Hogenakkal Forest ranger P.Ramar rushed to the spot to catch the crocodile and sent it to the crocodile farm.
The district had been experiencing heavy rain for the past two days and the crocodile might have entered the park from the Rasimal area where the amphibians usually hatch their eggs, forest officials said.
