MARNE-LA-VALLE: Disney's Newport Bay Club outside Paris hasn't seen visitors in months, but up to 1500 people will walk through its doors and into the convention centre Saturday and Sunday to be inoculated against COVID-19.
The hotel, one of the largest in the country, is now hosting a huge vaccination centre that will open this and next weekend before potentially welcoming patients 7 days a week.
Local authorities are hoping to administer up to 4,000 doses each day the centre is open.
The Disneyland Paris theme park closed its doors on 29 October 2020, after another increase in the number of COVID cases led the government to close non-essential venues and impose a curfew.
The resort is France's top tourist destination, but while some health restrictions may be lifted in May, a date for the park's reopening has yet to be set.
