Donald Trump seized Tuesday on comments Bill Clinton made about the federal health-care law known as Obamacare, and he suggested the former president has "gone through hell" with Hillary Clinton on "many nights."
Trump said Bill Clinton "came out and told the truth" about the Affordable Care Act when he "absolutely trashed" it.
"I bet he went through hell last night," Trump told the crowd.
He added: "There have been many nights when he's gone through hell with Hillary."
"You've got this crazy system where, all of a sudden, 25 million more people have health care, and then the people that are out there busting it, sometimes 60 hours a week, wind up with their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half. It's the craziest thing in the world," Bill Clinton said Monday in Flint, Mich.
Trump also sent his "best wishes" to running mate Mike Pence ahead of Tuesday night's debate. He said the evening contest will be "a contrast" between "our campaign of big ideas and solutions" and the "small and petty Clinton campaign that is totally stuck in the past."
Trump planned to watch the debate from Las Vegas. He is scheduled to campaign in Nevada on Wednesday.
