Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte has urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to use his influence and do “what he should do” regarding the Malaysia Airlines (MAS)Flight MH17 plane crash that was believed to have been shot down on Thursday.
Rutte told journalists in The Hague on Saturday that Putin had “one last chance” to show he is serious about helping rescuers recover the bodies of the victims.
“The temperature at the crash site is 35 degrees Celsius. The bodies must be retrieved as soon as possible. I want to see results, unlimited access and the return of the victims,” Dutch news portal quoted him as saying.
Rutte’s comments come amid reports pro-Russian rebels had moved 38 bodies from the crash site. The Ukrainian government in a statement had claimed that the separatists, with the help of the Russians, are trying to destroy evidence.
Ukraine has accused the separatists, fighting for independence from the country, of shooting down the plane. The rebels however say, Ukraine was responsible for the incident.
