CAIRO: Egypt will lodge a note with the United Nations' International Court of Justice (ICJ) over Israel's actions in Palestine, Sputnik quoted Egyptian broadcaster Al Qahera News report on Sunday, citing a high-ranking source familiar with the matter.

"Egypt will file a note to the United Nations' International Court of Justice related to the Israeli actions in the occupied (Palestinian) territories," the source told the broadcaster.

Egypt will submit arguments to the court on Feb 21, the source was cited as saying.

On Feb 13, the South African government said it had made an "urgent request" to the ICJ over Israel's decision to expand its operation in the Gaza Strip to the southern city of Rafah. On Feb 16, the ICJ ruled that the situation around Rafah did not require the introduction of any additional measures against Israel that were demanded by South Africa.
