US First Lady Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia rocked the capital on Saturday when they joined hundreds of kids from military families and Washington area schools at the Kids' Inaugural Concert.
Pop star Usher started off the proceedings Saturday evening with his hit song "Yeah."
The concert was chock-full of A-list talent, including Katy Perry and members of the cast of the television series "Glee."
The concert continues a tradition started at the 2009 inauguration by honouring the nation's military families.
It was hosted by Mrs. Obama and the Vice President's wife, Jill Biden, and emceed by actor and comedian Nick Cannon.
"When we said we wanted to host a concert to honour our military kids, let me tell you, everyone wanted to be here. Usher wanted to be here. Katy Perry wanted to be here. Nick Cannon. The folks from Glee and all the other amazing performers, they wanted to be here too. And let me tell you, they're not here for me. They're not here for Dr. Biden. They are here for all of you because they know the kind of sacrifices that you all make every single day," said the First Lady, sporting a stylish new hairstyle.
