French authorities deployed psychologists on Saturday to help children who witnessed a fatal stabbing of a school teacher cope with the trauma.
Fabienne Terral-Calmes was stabbed to death on Friday in front of her pupils in the southern town of Albi by a student's mother described as having psychiatric problems.
"We will be with these children, the families, the teachers, all who need help until school reopens and for as long as is necessary," deputy school inspector Farid Djemmal told AFP.
On Saturday, children attending Albi town's Edouard Herriot primary school brought flowers and drawings to pay homage to the teacher.
The flowers and drawings carried messages reading "Adieu to a great teacher", "Fabienne: a beautiful woman who is nice and generous".
The 34-year-old victim was a mother of two young girls.
