Customs officials in Bangladesh's second largest airport on Monday seized 41 gold bars weighing five kgs in a plane from Dubai, Xinhua news agency reported.
The gold bars were confiscated from a Biman Bangladesh Airlines plane at the Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong located some 242 km southeast of capital Dhaka in the morning, a Customs Intelligence Department official said.
Acting on a tip-off, customs officials conducted a raid and found the gold bars in a bag lying on an aisle of the aircraft.
No arrests have been made so far.
Last month, Bangladesh police seized 117 gold bars weighing 13-and-a-half kgs and arrested a Dubai returnee at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
