AT this year's Paris Motor Show, the Israeli startup City Transformer is presenting an ultra-compact electric car that's just one meter wide -- perfect for weaving in and out of traffic jams or parking easily, not unlike one does with a two-wheeler.
This car has several features that make it a unique model. First of all, it is very slim, measuring just one meter wide. This makes it an ideal mobility solution for congested urban areas.
In addition to getting through traffic, it is also perfect for parking almost anywhere. For example, three CT-1s can be parked in a conventional parking bay.
The vehicle can travel at a maximum speed of 90 km/h. Note that above 45 km/h, in performance mode, its front end widens and the car gains 40 cm in width for greater stability. City Transformer claims a range of between 120 and 180 km for its mini urban car, and about half an hour to recharge its battery to 80%.
The CT-1 can seat a maximum of two people, bearing in mind that the rear seat can also be folded down to provide a (small) storage area.
This car is aimed at both young urban residents and car-sharing fleets. Although production is not expected to start before 2024, the CT-1 is already available for pre-order with a deposit of €150. Its price is set at €16,000, excluding taxes.
