New COVID-19 cases in Malaysia continue to drop, three deaths reported

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia detected a total of 2,345 new COVID-19 cases as of midnight Tuesday (July 13), bringing the national total to 4,600,736 cases since the pandemic began.
Based on the data from the COVIDNOW portal, there were three imported cases, while local transmissions reported at 2,342 from the latest COVID-19 infections in the country.
Currently there are 35,716 active cases, with 1,232 COVID-19 patients hospitalised, 52 patients under intensive care and 31 of them in need of ventilator support.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 2,384 new recoveries, raising the total number of those recovered and discharged to 4,529,201.
Three new deaths were recorded yesterday with one confirmed as brought-in-dead, taking the death toll to 35,819.
Malaysia administered 10,662 COVID-19 vaccine doses on Tuesday, with 85.9 per cent of the nation received at least one dose, 83.7 per cent fully inoculated.
Meanwhile, about 49.5 per cent received the first booster and 0.5 per cent have received the second booster jab.
