ALGERIA'S KHELIF INTO BOXING FINAL
Imane Khelif beat Thailand's Janjaem Suwannapheng by unanimous decision in a welterweight semi-final fight at the Paris Games on Tuesday to progress to the final at Roland Garros.
Khelif, a silver medallist at the 2022 worlds, and Taiwanese boxer Lin Yu-ting had been thrust into the spotlight at the Olympics as part of a gender row that has dominated headlines and been the subject of much discussion on social media platforms.
Algeria fans flocked to the match to support her on Tuesday, while earlier her coach told Reuters she was been made the victim of a power struggle within boxing.
TEAM USA INTO SOCCER FINAL
Sophia Smith scored an extra-time winner as the United States reached the women's soccer final with a 1-0 victory over Germany in a tight game in Lyon on Tuesday to edge closer to a fifth Olympic gold medal.

DOPING ROW RESURFACES
China's anti-doping agency (CHINADA) accused its American counterpart on Tuesday of 'hypocritical double standards' in response to the positive test for U.S. sprinter Erriyon Knighton this year.
World silver medallist Knighton tested positive for the banned substance trenbolone this year but was not suspended for the Paris Games after an arbitrator found the result was likely caused by contaminated meat.
