WITH all due respect to Gerard Piqué, Shakira has scooped another world title. The Colombian singer's latest hit is now the most-watched new Latin song in YouTube history.
As she sings in her latest hit "SHAKIRA || BZRP Music Sessions #53": "Women don't cry anymore, they cash in" ("Las mujeres ya no lloran, las mujeres facturan"). The singer known worldwide for her songs "Waka Waka" and "Hips Don't Lie" can only be pleased with the success of her new song with the Argentinian DJ Bizarrap.
According to Forbes, Shakira has set a new record for the most-watched Latin song in YouTube history with "SHAKIRA || BZRP Music Sessions #53." In 24 hours, the "diss track," in which the international star seems to talk about her breakup and the infidelities of the Spanish footballer and father of her two children, reached more than 82 million views.
Now, the music video has been watched more than 134 million times in just five days.
This is not the first time the artist has set a world record, as she was notably the first person to reach 100 million "likes" on Facebook in July 2014, and the most liked woman on the social network in April 2021, as Forbes recalled.
Shakira has also caused a stir on social media, where her revenge track is proving a viral hit.
A clip taken from her music video generated more than 34.8 million views on her TikTok account, while the sound of the song is constantly being picked up by users of the Chinese social network. Almost 900,000 videos have used the sound of Shakira's new song on TikTok.
