Taiwan quake: Death toll increases to 35, over 100 remain missing

The death toll caused by the earthquake in the town of Tainan near the south of Taiwan increased to 35 people on Monday with over 100 remain missing under a 17 storey building rubble.
The earthquake happened around 4am on Saturday, reported Reuters.
Rescue workers continue to work hard to remove the victims trapped under the collapsed building.

Many family members continue to wait around the area in hopes receiving any news.
Taiwan authority in a statement said 33 out of the 35 killed were killed while 117 remain missing.
President Ma Ying-jeou together with Tsai Ing-wen who won the presidential election last month was scheduled to visit the crash zone on Monday afternoon.
