A 15-year-old girl in northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh was killed after falling off from the third floor of her school building, China's Xinhua news agency reported the police as saying.
The girl's family alleged she was thrown off by someone and has asked for a detailed investigation into her death.
The incident happened at a school in Deoria district, about 318 km east of Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh.
"Yesterday at Modern Montessori Inter College here, a class XI student had gone to a toilet on the third floor of the school building. Minutes after she was found lying in a pool of blood on the ground floor of the school premises," a police officer posted in Deoria said.
The girl, according to the school officials was immediately rushed to a hospital, but she succumbed on the way.
The girl's father has lodged a police complaint in connection with the death of her daughter, alleging she was thrown off from the third floor. The CCTV system at the school is out of order.
"CCTV cameras at the school have not been working for some days," Mithilesh Mishra, the school principal said.
Last week a seven-year-old boy was found with his throat slit in the washroom of his school in neighbouring state of Haryana.
