A two-year-old girl died after being left in a van by her parents under scorching temperature in Virgina, United States on Sunday.
The temperature at the area had reached 32 degrees celceus at the time of the incident.
According to a police spokesman, the girl was left in a van for an “extended period of time.”
The Associated Press reported that the unnamed girl was left in the car seat of the van which was parked at a residential area.
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
"At this state of the investigation, it appears that the child ... was accidentally left in the closed van by a parent for an extended period of time,” said the police spokesman Scott Leamon.
This is not the first case in the United States as 24 similar cases in which children were left in the car were reported this year.
