Two brothers – aged nine months and four-year-old – died after their father ‘deliberately’ drove his car into the ocean.

As reported by The Daily Mail Australia, the suicide-murder incident took place at Port Lincoln, west of Adelaide in the early hours of Monday morning.

The childrens father, Damien Little, had earlier shared a suicide note on Facebook before the tragic event took place.

It is understood that Little was a respected coach with the Lincoln South Football Club.

“He was a popular bloke. It’s very, very sad,” said Leigh Clarke, a former local resident with ties to the football club, as quoted by The Daily Mail Australia.

Meanwhile, four-year-old Koda was to start kindergarten and has been described as a loving brother to his young sibling nine-month-old Hunter.

Meanwhile, local authorities said that the incident is still subjected to investigation, as a rifle was retrieved during the retrieval process.

"Whether that's involved in the incident I don't know. That'll be subject to the investigation.

"It's a tragic case where you've got, we believe, the father and two young children in the vehicle. conference.

"No doubt, this will affect a lot of people living in Port Lincoln. We're not treating it as an accidental driving-off-the-wharf,” said Detective Superintendent Paul Yeomans during a press conference on Monday.
