DAVOS: Singapore Senior Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam focuses on the future of the Lion City water management while participating in the 2022 World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.

Tharman will appear in two important sessions, a dialogue and a special press conference focusing specifically on water issues.

At the first session at 8.45 am local time, Tharman together with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte and three other panels will have a dialogue on the topic "A Fresh Water Future".

Among others, the dialogue will discuss on the disruption of the water supply system, especially in the face of drought, extreme hot weather and floods.

It is common knowledge that Singapore's dependence on Malaysia on water supply is one of the important elements in the bilateral strategic relationship between the two countries.

This dialogue session will also see various bold ideas put forward by the panel members as a 'starting point' before the United Nations Water Conference (UN) in March 2023 in New York.

After the dialogue session, Tharman will appear in a special press conference with "The New Economics of Water - Launch of the Global Commission" at 5.30 pm local time.

Through the special press conference, he and several other panel members will launch a two-year initiative on to the Economic of Waters.

The report and action plan will form a discussion on the values and best ways to manage water in the 21st century.

Astro AWANI will have the details of the dialogue session and press conference on all Astro AWANI social media platforms.
