The inflow of foreign investments worth RM366 billion in the last seven months proves that the opposition allegation that Malaysia is a failed state is untrue, said a member of parliament (MP).
Kuala Selangor MP, Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim said the success was an excellent indicator for the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, thus exposing the lies of the opposition.
"RM366 billion is a big number. It is the amount of investments brought into Malaysia by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak from November 2016 to May 2017," he said in a statement today.
Irmohizam said the opposition should safeguard the good name of the country and help improve the performance of the economy and should not find fault with others.
During his visit to China recently, Najib witnessed the signing of nine memorandum of understanding between Malaysian and Chinese companies involving investments on infrastructure worth about RM30 billion.
Najib, who attended the Belt and Road Forum for Economic Cooperation, also held bilateral meetings with China's President Xi Jinping and Premier Minister Li Keqiang in Beijing.
He also visited the headquarters of Alibaba Group , the e-commerce company founded by Jack Ma, in Hangzhou. --Bernama
