Muhyiddin in Dubai for five-day working visit
Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin arrived Monday for a five-day working visit to Dubai where he will attend key investment and education forums and meet prominent figures of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Muhyiddin, his wife Puan Sri Norainee Abdul Rahman and delegation were received upon arrival at the Dubai International Airport by Malaysian Ambassador to the UAE Datuk Ahmad Anwar Adnan and Malaysian Consul-General in Dubai Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin.
Muhyiddin is scheduled to attend the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) 2014 where he is expected to deliver a keynote address.
AIM 2014, to be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) from April 8 to 10, is to encourage foreign direct investment (FDI) and country-specific public-private partnership opportunities by showcasing economic potentials.
On the sidelines of AIM 2014, Muhyiddin is scheduled to call on Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum.
AIM 2014 is organised by the UAE Ministry of Economy under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Al Maktoum.
Muhyiddin, who is also education minister, will attend the Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) 2014 on Wednesday where he is scheduled to officiate the Malaysian pavilion.
Established in 1983 and having made its mark as the leading education and training event in the region, the GETEX 2014 edition will be held from April 9 to 11 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
On the sidelines of GETEX 2014, Muhyiddin is scheduled to receive calls from UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Sheikh Hamdan Mubarak Al Nahyan and UAE Education Minister Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami.
