Tesco dismisses rumour of ceasing operations in Malaysia
Tesco Malaysia confirms that the rumours on social media about the company shutting down operations in the country is false.
Tesco Malaysia today dismissed a rumour on social media saying that the company will be shutting down its operations in the country.
In a statement, Tesco Stores (Malaysia) CEO, Paul Ritchie said the message being forwarded on WhatsApp was not issued by Tesco Malaysia.
"We have been made aware of rumours regarding Tesco being forwarded on social media, especially on WhatsApp. We confirm that the message was not issued by Tesco Malaysia," he said.
Ritchie assured that the company will continue to serve it customers and strengthen its business nationwide.
"We would like to assure all our colleagues, suppliers and partners that we are determined to continue serving our shoppers, while working hard to strengthen our business throughout Malaysia," he added.
Tesco also urge everyone to share information responsibly and thanked all those who have contacted them to seek clarification on the matter.
