Thai energy company eyes ASEAN
PTT Public Co. Ltd is targeting to expand its service stations to some 200 new locations in Asean.
Thai state-owned energy conglomerate PTT Public Co. Ltd. is targeting to expand its service stations to some 200 new locations in Asean in the next five years, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported citing the National News Bureau of Thailand (NNT).
PTT vice president of International Marketing Buranin Rattanasombat said the company plans to invest 3 billion baht (US$92.86 million) to open more gas stations in Asean (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries by 2018.
The company hopes to increase the current number of stations in Cambodia from 16 to between 40 to 45, from 23 to 65 in Laos and 70 to 90 in the Philippines.
PTT is also setting its eyes on investing more in Myanmar due to the flourishing investment scene there. The oil giant already has one service station in Myanmar's capital Naypyidaw and is looking to more open stations particularly in Rangoon in future.
PTT is one of the largest corporations in Thailand and the only Thai company listed in Fortune Global 500 companies. -- Bernama
