WhatsApp officially belongs to Facebook

The messaging service has been taken over by Facebook at a staggering USD19bil and is hoped to connect to more people around the globe as well as enhancing its quality for the customers, as reported in The Wall Street Journal.
This action is viewed as Facebook’s strategy to dominate the realm of mobile messaging service.
WhatsApp founder and chief executive officer, Jan Koum has officially joined Facebook as one of its board of members and will remain as chief executive of WhatsApp.
He is, however expected to continue develop WhatsApp without relying on Facebook.
To date, Whatsapp records over a whopping 600 million users monthly and is reportedly among the world's most popular mobile messaging service.
