Datuk Seri Musa Aman sworn in as Sabah CM
Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Musa Aman was sworn in today as the chief minister of Sabah before Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at the Istana Negeri, here.
This is Musa's fourth term as the chief minister, having been first appointed to the post in 2003 under the rotation system.
He led the Sabah BN to victory in the general election in 2004 and again in 2008.
In the 13th General Election yesterday, the BN retained power in with a two-third majority, securing 48 of the 60 seats in the state legislative assembly. In this election, 12 seats were won by the opposition, up from the three in 2008.
The PKR won seven seats, namely Api-Api, Moyog, Kadamaian, Matunggong, Tamparulli, Klias and Inanam; the DAP increased its one seat to four, taking Luyang, Kapayan, Sri Tanjong and Likas while the State Reform Party (STAR) won the Bingkor seat. Musa retained his Sungai Sibuga seat with a majority of 11,569 votes.
