Pakatan retains Penang, Selangor; BN takes Kedah, Perak

Barisan Nasional (BN) has successfully wrested Kedah from Pakatan Rakyat in the 13th General Election but failed to do the same for Kelantan, which has been held by Pas since 1990.

BN, which will be forming the federal government, has also managed to keep Perak and Terengganu with a slim majority.

Pakatan Rakyat has managed to maintain power in Penang and Selangor while also managed to make breakthroughs in BN's stronghold of Johor and Sabah.
