POP princess Katy Perry has unveiled the full video for her new single "Rise", which will be used as the NBC Olympics anthem during the network's coverage of the global sporting event in Rio de Janeiro.

The clip, released on the eve of the Olympic Games, which begin on Aug 5, shows the singer battling with a crimson parachute in several scenarios before finally taking flight, highlighting the song's lyrics about striving to overcome adversity and rising to victory.

Commenting on the tune when it dropped last month, Perry said the song had been "brewing inside me for years, that has finally come to the surface" (via NME).

The single marks Perry's first new material since her 2013 album "Prism".
