Rozana Misbun, the wife ofrock singer, Awie, will appear at the Magistrate Court today to testify against her husband who was charged with causing grievous hurt to her last year.

Speaking to reporters after yesterday's proceeding, Deputy Public Prosecutor GohAiRene said the prosecution would call two witnesses to testify in the trial today, including Rozana.

Rozana also appeared at the court yesterday, clad in white blouse and black pants.

On July 4 last year, Awie, or his real name Ahmad Azhar Othman, 47, pleaded not guilty to a charge of voluntarily causing grievous hurt to Rozana, 36, at a house in Taman Ukay Bistari, Ukay Perdana, Hulu Kelang at 1.30 pm on June 2.

The charge was made under Section 325 of the Penal Code, which provides for a jail sentence of up to seven years and a fine upon conviction.

Earlier, the third witnessofthe prosecution, Sgt Nasir Mohamad, 54, from the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Audio and Video Forensics Laboratory Department, testified that on Sept 9 last year, he received an envelope containing a mobile phone to beanalysed.

"I examined the mobile phone and found asimcardand a Transcend memory card in it.

"I then listed the items in the case exhibit form to ensure that the items would be handed over to the analyst based on what was written in the form," he said during the examination-in-chief by Goh.

Nasir said he handed over the case exhibit, which was placed in a closed envelope, to Insp Latifah Abdul Aziz, 34, who is the analyst of electronic device images at the laboratory, on the same day.

During cross examination byAwie's lawyer, Hazman Harun, the witness denied knowing the result of the analysis done on the mobile phone as it was only known by Latifah.

The trial before Magistrate Ayuni Izzaty Sulaiman continues today.
