Final note from Datuk Sharifah Aini

She wrote the note merely days before her death and those are the words, some hoped her families would never have to read. Sharifah Aini, whose full name is Sharifah Aini Syed Jaafar died peacefully at a private hospital in Petaling Jaya early Saturday morning at 1.26am. The singer was to have celebrated her 61st birthday last Wednesday. Sharifah Aini was admitted to the Intensive care unit of Damansara Specialist Hospital on Tuesday for breathing difficulties. In the last two years she has been treated for fibrosis of the lungs, also known as interstitial lung disease. According to her doctor, Dato’ Dr Zainudin Md Zain, the condition causes scarring or hardening of the lungs. Her son, Aliff Omar Ali, close family members and friends were by her side. She was buried at Bukit Kiara Muslim Burial ground at approximately 12.30pm yesterday.
