Local comedian 'Pie' dies
Pie died due to old age Thursday night. He was 85.
Local comedy actor ‘Pie’ passed away tonight due to old age. He was 85.
Pie, whose real name is Shafie Jaafar, breathed his last at his daughter Sabariah’s house in Teluk Bahang, Penang around 9pm.
Sabariah reportedly said her father’s remains would be taken to the Teluk Bahang Mosque for funeral prayers before being laid to rest after Friday prayers tomorrow.
In August last year, Pie was treated at the Kepala Batas Hospital for several ailments including lung infection.
Pie had been actively acting since the 1980s. Among his most popular movies included Anak Mami, Mami Jarum, Mami Jarum Junior and Nana Tanjung.
