Veteran actress 'Aachi' Manorama dies

Well-known South Indian actress Manorama died of cardiac arrest late last night in Chennai, NDTV reports.

She was 78.

The veteran artiste who set a Guinness record when she completed 1,000 films is also fondly known as Aachi.

The actress, comedian and singer had a huge following in Malaysia especially among Tamil film fans.

Meanwhile, South Indian actor and actresses including Dhanush and Kushboo Sundar shared their condolences on Twitter.
