False statements about flood victims aggravate situation - Jailani

Irresponsible individuals issuing false statements about flood victims in social media must come down and see for themselves the real situation in flood-ravaged villages around Kuala Krai, said Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Jailani Johari.

He said such statements did not help but aggravated the situation.

"Do not make false statements just for fun... they need to see for themselves and be in the exact location in the flood affected areas.

"I want those making false stories about flood victims, to stop doing it immediately," he told reporters after visiting and delivering food relief supplies to Kampung Laloh and Kampung Karangan folks, here, Sunday.

He said this when asked to comment on the spread of false information relating to floods on social media.
