There was significant drop in the total number of flood evacuees in the country tonight as compared to this evening.

The total figure was 12,971 people as of 8pm as compared to 15,078 in the evening.

In PAHANG, the number of evacuees in six flood-hit districts in the state dropped from 9,845 people in the evening to 7,807 tonight.

A Pahang Police Contingent Flood Operations Room spokesman said 43 relief centres were still open with 4,855 people still being sheltered in Pekan, Maran (1,372), Kuantan (888), Temerloh (383), Rompin (262) and Bera (47).

In PERAK, a National Security Council (MKN) spokesman said the state also saw a drop in the number of evacuees, from 2,798 people to 2,735 who are at 15 relief centres with Perak Tengah having 2,000 evacuees , Hilir Perak (472), Manjung (155) and Hulu Perak (108).

In KELANTAN, an MKN spokesman said the number of evacuees fell from 2,372 people to 2,366 who are at 27 relief centres.

Gua Musang has 1,157 evacuees, Kuala Krai (1,016), Machang (100) and Tanah Merah (93 ).

There was no change in the situation in Johor with 63 people still at relief centres in Segamat.
