The Islamic Civilization Park Management Sdn Bhd today denied that the management had closed the Crystal Mosque to the public due to the current high tide phenomenon.
Its Managing Director Wan Adnan Wan Derahman said the park, including the Crystal Mosque, were operating as usual and are closed daily at 12am according to schedule.
"The public are still coming to pray in the Crystal Mosque and in fact the mosque is packed for the congregational Maghrib and Isyak prayers. The B Benteng restaurant is also running smoothly.
"However, the situation becomes livelier after the Isyak prayer as many stay back to take a closer look at the rising tide which may pose a danger to them," he told Bernama today when asked to comment on rumours that the Crystal Mosque was closed for public.
As a security measure, TTI management may decide to shorten the visiting hours and close the area at around 10pm, he said.
Meanwhile, the Kelantan Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) denied allegations that electricity supply was cut off in all areas of Kota Baharu today.
Its general manager Md Yuslan Md Yusof said so far only Pulau Kundor area was without electricity due to the floods.
The news spread through WhatsApp claimed that electricity supply was cut off in Kota Baharu when water level in Sungai Kelantan surpassed the danger level.
Md Yuslan said electricity supply would only be cut off for safety reasons when the floods worsen.
He said Kuala Krai and Gua Musang districts were still without electricity due to the worsening flood situation.
