Dr Mohammad Daud Bakar: Faith in Banking

Dr. Mohammad Daud Bakar serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Institute of Islamic Finance Inc. and Amanie Business Solutions Sdn. Bhd. He has been the Executive Member of Global Shariah Supervisory Board at Gulf International Bank B.S.C. since June 11, 2016 and has served as the Deputy Rector the International Islamic University Malaysia. He also served as Dean of the Centre for Postgraduate. Very recently, he wrote the book “Hope” for the “Hope Alliance” of Malaysia, insisting that with the new government in place, there is very much a need to rejuvenate the many hopes that all Malaysians want. Ibrahim Sani spoke to him recently to better understand the motivations on writing such a book, and explore what are his thoughts on the growth of Syariah-compliant banking at home and abroad.
