An Indonesian Home Affairs Ministry staff who mistyped 'Corruption Eradication Commission' (KPK) as 'Corruption Protection Commission' was immediately fired yesterday.
The local media here today quoted Home Affairs Minister, Tjahjo Kumolo as saying investigations revealed there was an element of sabotage within the ministry as this had never happened before.
He said the incident was an embarassment and the act was inexcusable which should be a lesson to other officers not to sabotage the ministry.
He said the officer's act was widely spread on the social media and the ministry had to write a formal letter of apology to the Commission.
KPK, an anti-corruption agency in Indonesia, of late had received wide media coverage, almost daily, for their investigations on corruption in government departments, including the parliament, district councils and the governor's office.
The typing error made on an envelope addressed to the Commission Head from the Home Affirs Ministry was spotted by KPK officers and was later spread on the internet.
