Malaysian wins World Press Photo award
Two bulls being manuvered in a paddy field by a local extreme sports enthusiast, who was clutching on to the massive mammals' tails impressed the juries of the World Press Photo award that they named it as the best photograpgh in the sports singles photo category.
The award-winning photo was taken by Malaysian photographer Wei Seng Chan who crafted his name in history as the first Malaysian taking home the prestigious award.
Wei walked home €1,500 (RM6,200) richer for his winning entry which was shot in Batu Sangkar, Indonesia.
The annual award ceremony which took place in Amsterdam, saw 103,481 entries sent by 5,666 photographers from 124 countries for nine categories.
The international juries picked Swedish photographer Paul Hensen's photo as the 2012 World Press Photo award.
His cream of the crop photo depicts two Palestinian children killed in an Israeli missile strike being carried to their funeral.
